Getting Started in Pioneer Travel & Expense

Steps to get started in the Pioneer Travel & Expense system.

 

 

 

  • Set up your Concur Profile

    The first step to success when using the Pioneer Travel & Expense (PTE) system is to set up a Concur Profile.

    Concur profile selections are very important as the Pioneer Travel & Expense system uses these preferences for travel selections, travel reward programs, credit card information for hotels, expense delegate privileges, emergency contacts, and other operations related to travel and expense. When completing the profile, be sure to complete all "required" fields in addition to the following contacts and preferences: 

    Travel Preferences - The PTE system uses profile travel preferences to assist with airline seat selection, travel times, lodging accommodations, and other travel options. Additionally, as a benefit, travel reward program numbers can be entered within the Concur profile so when travel is booked through Concur, the traveler receives personal program credits for their business travel.

    Delegations - Within the Concur profile, employees may specify one or more DU colleagues to act as a delegate. Delegates assist with expense reconciliations, building expense reports, booking travel, or other actions specified within your profile. Note: Delegates are allowed to handle most functions within PTE except for actually submitting expense reports on behalf of the delegator. The owner of the PTE account must log in and submit their own expense reports.

    Emergency Contacts - Emergency contact information is required. DU needs this information as part of the travel registration process. In an emergency, DU will reach out to this person if the employee/traveler cannot be reached. More information can be found in the DU Travel and Expense Policies.

    Receipt Uploads - Receipts are often required as part of the expense report process. In order to forward receipts from an email address, these email addresses must be verified in the Concur profile.
