The University of Denver has a variety of resources and support systems for our Queer community. Though not specific to our Trans community, the below resources and affinity groups are locations for Trans inclusion and celebration, while resourceful offices and departments can be found on the home page of the Trans Hub.
As more resources are built out, we will host them here and if there are any resources that have been helpful for you in your time at DU, please let us know by emailing inclusion@du.edu.
The Queer Student Alliance (QSA) is a student-run undergraduate Registered Student Organization (RSO) and is a member of the USG Diversity Committee’s Joint Council (link to Affinity Groups tab on our website). QSA hosts events throughout the year to establish community and empower LGBT+ student voices.
OUTLaws is the LGBTQ student organization at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Our primary goal is to create a safe and inclusive space for ALL students, including those who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and/or queer, as well as allies. The group is open to all students regardless of orientation or identity. The OUTLaws strive to create an environment where we are encouraged and empowered to develop professionally, socially, and academically.
QEA is a safe space for queer folks and allies to sustain community, educate others, and advocate for liberation in order to create a radical sense of belonging and culturally responsive inclusivity at the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work and the broader community.
QFA supports LGBTQ and questioning-identified faculty on campus through advocacy, scholarship, and social networking. QFA works to connect queer faculty across the university and ensure that DU is an affirming space for all queer students, staff, and faculty.
The Queer & Ally (Q&A) Network is comprised of members of the DU community (students, faculty and staff) who have gone through both Levels 1 and 2 of Q&A Training, and have committed to advancing DU's inclusive culture by posting their membership in the Network (displaying a placard in their office/room), acting as resources to the larger DU community, and staying informed of and engaged with LGBTQ+ work at DU.
