Repayment Help
The Bursar's Office at the University of Denver is responsible for managing the collection of student charges and Perkins loans. Our office strives to educate students and their families with payment plan options to help obtain their educational goals at the University of Denver.
Types of Loan
Perkins Loans
The Federal Perkins Loan Program is a need-based loan that has been guaranteed by the Federal Government. The Perkins loan must be used for educational expenses while in attendance at the University of Denver. These expenses may include tuition, fees, books, room & board and transportation.
Important: Under federal law, the authority for schools to make new Perkins Loans ended on Sept. 30, 2017. As a result, students can no longer receive Perkins Loans.
Emergency Loans
Short-term emergency loans are available to DU students who are experiencing temporary financial hardship, including unexpected costs like medical or dental expenses, car repairs and family emergencies. They cannot be used for budgeted monthly expenses such as rent, utilities, credit card payments, child care, etc.
