Transcript Acceptance Policy
The University of Denver accepts official transcripts from outside institutions in both electronic and hard copy form. In order to be considered official, transcripts must be delivered in accordance with the acceptance policy outlined below. The University reserves the right to reject transcripts or request additional information if there is any question about the authenticity of the document. Transcripts with coursework in progress will not be considered final.
Electronic Transcript
The University of Denver considers electronic transcripts official when all of the following criteria are met:
- The transcript is certified as official by a third-party certification agency. Approved agencies include Army/American Council on Education Registry Transcript System (AARTS), National Student Clearinghouse, Scrip-Safe, and Parchment. Electronic transcripts generated by the issuing institution itself, or certified by a third-party agency other than those listed above, may be accepted at the discretion of the Registrar's Office.
- The transcript is received directly by a DU official.
- The transcript is a certified PDF document retrieved from a secure server with no evidence of tampering. Transcripts sent by email or fax will not be considered official.
Hard Copy Transcripts
The University of Denver considers paper transcripts official when delivered in a sealed envelope from the issuing institution or a third-party agency acting on behalf of the institution.
