Dean's List and Hornbeck Scholars
Outstanding academic achievement among undergraduates at the University of Denver is recognized through the Dean’s List and Hornbeck Scholars List which are published each quarter.
Dean’s List and Hornbeck Scholars are noted on the students’ transcripts as “Dean’s List” for any quarter the achievement is earned.
The Hornbeck Scholars honor is named in memory of Stanley Kuhl Hornbeck, a distinguished University of Denver graduate elected to a Rhodes Scholarship in 1904, the first year of Rhodes Scholarship eligibility for American students. Hornbeck received his bachelor’s degree from DU in 1904 and became the first Rhodes Scholar from Colorado. He later served the United States as ambassador to the Netherlands.
