Isakson and Roe Section 1018 Requirements
Section 1018 of Public Law 116-315, Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020, adds new requirements for educational institutions participating in the educational assistance programs of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). These new provisions applied to Institutions of Higher Learning August 1, 2021. The requirements are consistent with the Principles of Excellence, currently in Executive Order 13607, with some additional provisions.
Universities will provide financial information to students using benefits under chapter 30, 31, 32, 33, or 35 of title 38,U.S.C.,or chapter 1606 of title 10, U.S.C. with a College Financing Plan (personalized shopping sheet) through the Financial Aid Office.

Payments by VA Education Benefits (Chapter 30, 31, 33, 35 and 1606)
Payments by VA Education Benefits (Chapter 30, 31, 33, 35 and 1606) are entirely determined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and depend upon the student’s eligibility. All eligibility decisions are made entirely by the VA upon the student’s application to the VA.

After you apply for financial aid and are admitted to DU, you'll receive an email when your financial aid offer is available for you to view through My4D. Use the following resources to help understand your offer and determine the next steps you need to take to secure your financial aid.

When to expect your financial aid offer:
In order to receive a financial aid offer, you must submit the FAFSA (and any other requested documentation) and be admitted to a DU program.
- New students for the winter of 2023: We'll begin sending aid offers in mid-September.
- New students for the spring of 2023: We'll begin sending aid offers in mid-January.
- New students for the summer or fall of 2023: We'll begin sending aid offers in mid-March.
- Current students who plan to return in the 2023-24 academic year: We'll begin sending aid offers in mid-June.
We send aid offers on a weekly basis to students who recently submitted the FAFSA or were recently admitted to DU after the timelines listed above have passed.
