Your Resilience & Growth Mindset Roadmap: Growing Through Difficulties
About
February 2021 Update: C+V & 4D have partnered with HRIC to add this module to Pioneer@Work for DU faculty and staff. If you are a faculty and staff member, visit the below PDF which will show you how to complete the module through Pioneer@Work. You will be able to save your progress on the module through this learning portal.
C+V is partnering with 4-D, HRIC, DUGC, The Cultural Center, Athletics and Recreation, and other campus partners to create an asynchronous, self-guided module for our DU community to facilitate their own virtual journey through the topics of resilience and growth mindset. Participants will learn about the various definitions and aspects of resilience and growth mindset and create their own “roadmap” and goals to grow through these difficulties and emerge stronger.
Each participant will who completes the module will receive their personalized roadmap, a resource packet, and a FREE e-copy of Micro-Resilience: Minor Shifts for Major Boosts in Focus, Drive, and Energy by Bonnie St. John & Allen P. Haines.
* After you register, you will receive the link to the self-guided module, your guidebook, and additional information for the module from the C+V team. This is an asynchronous, self-guided module. Participants can complete this module at any date/time that works best for them. Module will be available throughout 2020.

Past Event: C+V & 4-Dimensional Experience: How to Intentionally Build Community
About
“The key to creating or transforming community, then, is to see the power in the small but important elements of being with others.” – Peter Block, Community: The Structure of Belonging
Community is a powerful concept – community allows us to feel a sense of belonging and support. Fellow community members are there to hear us, see us, share in experiences with us, and accept us for who we are. However, building community does not just happen. It takes intentional, authentic, thoughtful action to connect and engage with others. We invite you to join Community + Values, in collaboration with the 4-Dimensional Experience and other campus partners, as we create an authentic space for DU community members to come together and dialogue about how we can intentionally build community together at DU.
*There will be no video recording of this event to honor the privacy of the participant conversations

Welcome Back from C+V!
About
It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for. Students have moved into dorms and apartments. They are sitting down in classrooms and convening online. For the first time in months, people are running, walking, and socializing on campus (with masks and distance #DUYourPart). Faculty and staff are welcoming students they've missed so much and working with colleagues not just on planning for a new reality, but giving it a go. Read our 2020-2021 welcome back message.

Past Event: C+V Community Talk: In Person, Online & In-Between: Navigating School Environments During COVID
About
As we jump into the fall, the level of uncertainty and change seems to grow every day. One of the biggest areas of change is being back in school environments during COVID — we recognize that DU community members, including faculty, staff, and students, are sending their own children back to school or tackling online education or both. We also have parents of DU students sending their children off to college, knowing things can change in the blink of an eye. School and change can and should be rewarding and exciting, but we know it’s stressful, and we know at times it’s confusing and unpredictable.
With this in mind, our C+V webinar will feature special guest, Stephen Ginsberg, Licensed Clinical Psychologist and DU alum, who will answer questions live from a student & parent panel.

Past Event: C+V Community Talk: Making Your Best Choices: Decision Making Amidst Constant Change

During these times, Community + Values recognizes that everyone feels tired. Each day brings more change and therefore more decisions. It feels like everything is on the table and nothing is on auto pilot or easy. Decisions feel bigger now. With this in mind, our C+V Community Talk will create an authentic space where we can talk about decision fatigue and how everything feels new, ever changing, and simply really hard in these times. We will discuss how to process these feelings, manage these tough decisions and make the best ones, and incorporate strategies to help lessen anxiety around decisions and change.

About
As we enter into August and draw closer to what we know will be a unique, at a times, challenging year, our upcoming C+V webinar focuses on communication within our community. We are headed into our first-ever hybrid environment of online and in-person working and learning, so our webinar will focus on some key tips around communication, finding patience within the process, and successfully navigating the unknown as a community.
