WHAT ARE THE PIONEER ID CARD OFFICE HOURS?
The Pioneer ID Card Office is open during the following hours:
Monday & Tuesday: 8:00am - 1:00pm and 2:00pm - 4:30pm
Wednesday: 8:00am - 1:00pm and 2:00pm - 3:00pm
Thursday & Friday: 8:00am - 1:00pm and 2:00pm - 4:30pm

DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT TO RECEIVE MY PIONEER ID CARD?
No appointment is necessary to receive your card.

WHAT DO I NEED IN ORDER TO OBTAIN A PIONEER ID CARD?
In order to receive a card you must present a photo ID, have paid your admissions deposit, and be within 30 days from the beginning of your accepted term. Students are issued their first Pioneer ID Card at no charge.

DO I RECEIVE A NEW PIONEER ID CARD EVERY YEAR?
The Pioneer ID Card does not expire as long as you are a current student. A new card will not be issued each year.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY PIONEER ID CARD IS LOST OR STOLEN?
Immediately deactivate the lost or stolen card online. You can also contact the Pioneer ID Card Office in person or by phone at 303-871-4545 to have the card deactivated.
To receive a replacement card, simply visit the Pioneer ID Card Office during normal office hours.
The fee is $30 for a lost card, but may be waived if you present a valid police report detailing the theft of your card.
Please return found cards to the Pioneer ID Card Office. This can save a fellow student heartache and money! -

HOW MUCH DOES A NEW PIONEER ID CARD COST?
Lost cards can be replaced for $30.00.
Damaged cards can be replaced for $15.00.Replacement fees must be paid via exact cash or Flex.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF MY PIONEER ID CARD IS STOLEN AND USED TO MAKE A PURCHASE?
Immediately deactivate the stolen card online. Then contact the Pioneer ID Card Office at 303-871-4545 and explain what happened.
The ID Office will then make any necessary contacts and determine the appropriate action. Stolen fund situations are handled on a case by case basis. -
CAN I USE MY PREFERRED/CHOSEN NAME ON MY ID CARD?
Yes, we can certainly print you an ID with your preferred/chosen first name. This name must be reflected in your student record before we can print you an ID with your preferred/chosen name. If you have not already submitted a preferred name request, you can find details on how to do so at this link. Please contact our office with further questions. Thank you!
Flex Account Questions

WHAT IS THE FLEX ACCOUNT?
The Flex account is our flexible spending (debit) account. This account provides security and convenience. You need not carry cash. Your Pioneer Card can be used to make purchases on and off campus for a variety of products and services.
Funds are secure, as account balances are maintained on a central database in the University's central computer room. As long as you report a lost or stolen ID card immediately, your account balance is protected. -
HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE A FLEX ACCOUNT?
All students, staff, and faculty have a Flex account. You just need to make a deposit and you're ready to go!

HOW DO I MAKE A DEPOSIT TO MY FLEX ACCOUNT?
You can make deposits online with a credit card, or in the ID Office with cash or check.
Cash deposits to your Flex account can also be made in Anderson Academic Commons at the account management kiosk located to the right of the UTS Help Desk.
The minimum deposit required is $1.00.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR FUNDS TO DEPOSIT INTO MY FLEX ACCOUNT?
Funds deposited online or at the account management kiosk are available for use immediately. Deposits made in the ID Office are available for use the following morning.

IS THERE A FEE FOR USING FLEX?
There are no fees for using or depositing to your Flex account.
However, you should be sure to spend all of your funds, or request a refund, before you graduate. Cards inactive for over 12 months will be charged a $5.00 monthly service charge.

WHERE CAN I USE FLEX?
Flex is accepted at the these locations.

WILL MY FLEX FUNDS BE AVAILABLE NEXT QUARTER?
Flex funds roll over from quarter to quarter and year to year. You will have access to your funds as long as you are a current student.

CAN I WITHDRAW CASH FROM MY FLEX ACCOUNT?
Cash cannot be withdrawn from the Flex account.

HOW DO I REQUEST A REFUND OF MY REMAINING FLEX BALANCE?
Refunds may be requested through the ID Office. You can obtain a Flex Refund Request form here, or in the ID Office. Refunds will be made by check or direct deposit.
Refunds can only be made at the end of the academic year, when graduating, for an official stop out, when all classes are dropped, or for account closure. -
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF A MERCHANT OVERCHARGES MY FLEX ACCOUNT?
If a merchant runs a transaction through multiple times or charges an incorrect amount, present a copy of your statement to the manager at that merchant and request a refund. A copy of your recent transactions can be printed from your account online, or you may obtain a statement from the ID Office.

WHY IS MY PIONEER ID CARD NOT WORKING AT OFF-CAMPUS MERCHANTS?
You must deposit funds to your Flex account in order to make purchases at off-campus merchants. Your meal plan cash will NOT work off campus.
You can make deposits online with a credit card, or in the ID Office with cash or check.
Cash deposits to your Flex account can also be made in Anderson Academic Commons at the account management kiosk located to the right of the UTS Help Desk. -
WHO DO I TELL ABOUT A MERCHANT THAT WOULD BE A GOOD CANDIDATE TO TAKE FLEX?

DO I NEED A MEAL PLAN?
All first-year and second-year students are required to have a meal plan and must choose either the 125-Block, 150-Block, or 175-Block meal plan. The 10-Block and 50-Block meal plans are available to all students and employees.

WHAT MEAL PLANS ARE OFFERED?
There are three resident meal plans available: 125-Block, 150-Block, 175-Block, and two Commuter meal plans available: 50-Block and 10-Block.

WHERE CAN I USE MY MEALS?
Your meals can be used at the Rebecca Chopp Grand Central Market in the Community Commons.

WHERE CAN I USE MEAL PLAN CASH?
Meal plan cash can be used at several food service locations on campus.

CAN I USE MEAL PLAN CASH OFF CAMPUS?
Meal plan cash cannot be used off campus. It can only be used for purchases at on-campus food service locations. If you would like to use your card off campus, you must use your Flex account.
You can make Flex deposits online with a credit card, or in the ID Office with cash or check.

WILL MY MEAL PLAN CASH BE AVAILABLE NEXT QUARTER?
Meal plan cash is replenished each quarter and expires at the end of each quarter. Be sure to spend all of your meal plan cash before the end of each term.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY MEAL PLAN?
You may change your meal plan with the Housing Department. There is a deadline each quarter for changes.

CAN I CONVERT BETWEEN MEALS AND MEAL PLAN CASH?
You cannot convert meals to meal plan cash or vice versa. However, you can add an additional $100 dollars of meal plan cash per quarter to your meal plan for only $75 dollars. This must be done through the Housing Department before the meal plan change deadline.
You can always deposit money to your Flex account if you run out of meal plan cash.

You can check the amount of remaining meals and meal plan cash through our eAccounts Card Management Portal. You can also check your meal usage history through this portal.
