Plant Collections
The Chester M. Alter Arboretum is home to about 2,100 trees as well as several thousand woody plants representing more than 427 species and varieties. Plants are labeled for identification and grouped to enhance campus beauty.
In addition, the Arboretum is home to nine Champion and Notable Trees. These trees represent some of the largest known specimens of their species within the state of Colorado, and include some of the oldest trees on campus.
