Types of Aid
We use a variety of different sources to help supplement the cost of your DU education. Along with grants and scholarships, loans and work-study are commonly included in aid offers. Your academic profile and financial need will both factor into the type and amount of financial aid you receive. Your financial aid offer will likely include a combination of these different types of aid and can come from various sources, including the University and federal and state governments.
Grants & Scholarships
Grants and scholarships are offered through both the University and federal and state governments. We'll help you understand your options.
Work-Study
Work-study is a need-based financial aid award that allows students to work on campus to earn money to help pay for educational expenses, minimize borrowing and develop valuable skills.
Student Loans
Loans are likely to be an essential element of your college investment. We're here to make sure you're able to navigate the application process and borrow responsibly.
Summer Aid
Financial aid is available on a limited basis for students taking classes during the summer quarter.
Aid for Undocumented Students
While financial aid for undocumented students is limited, there are scholarships available from DU, the State of Colorado and private organizations.
