Academic Support
No matter what you need, we have you covered
When you become a student at DU, you're welcomed into a community that actively supports your goals. From academic resources like the Learning Effectiveness Program to long-term planning available from the Career Center, our staff is ready to help you get where you want to go. We'll help you be independent and self-assured on your path, but you'll never be alone on your journey.
Career Support
A DU education is built around rich intellectual learning and professional development. We serve the second part of that commitment through our six Career Services units on campus.
As a Pioneer, you'll have access to hundreds of internship opportunities and a dedicated support staff who can help you develop work experience before you graduate. You'll be a step ahead of the competition when you're ready to start your career. Many internships provide college credit, so you can advance your degree while you build your career.
You'll also find career assistance specific to your major and career interests. Our schools and colleges provide advising catered to your passions, so once you've chosen a field that inspires you, we'll help you find a career to match.
Student Support Services
Learning Effectiveness Program
Designed to benefit students with learning differences, the Learning Effectiveness Program provides one-on-one academic counseling, help with academic workloads and subject-specific tutoring. We even offer LEP scholarships to qualifying students.
Writing Center
Our Writing Center is available to all students and provides tutoring and guidance on class assignments, research papers and multimedia projects. For every subject, we have tutors available to help you craft your writing and meet the challenges of higher academics.
Academic Advising
We're dedicated to making sure you get the most out of your time at DU. Our academic advisors partner with you in one-on-one meetings to help you find your major and develop educational goals. They also support you through strength–based skill building, including time management and organizational skills development.

Learn MoreVeteran Services
Ranked 49th on U.S. News & World Report’s list of Best Colleges for Veterans, we’re aware of the many academic and social benefits veterans bring to our campus, as well the unique issues they may face in transitioning to college life. Our Office of Veteran Services offers resources for veteran students to ease this transition and ensure they can excel.
Services include extensive financial aid support, transition assistance and a dedicated staff that connects veterans with the on- and off-campus resources they need to feel at home at DU. Employment search and professional development tools help veterans find professional applications for the skills they develop, while an active Student Veterans Association provides valuable connections and support.
