Update on DU's Web Overhaul Project for November 2021
We are proud to announce the launch of five new sites over the past month including:
- Office of the Registrar
- Office of Research & Sponsored Programs
- Sponsored Programs Administration
- Office of Research Integrity & Education
- Office of Intellectual Property & Technology Transfer
Sites remaining to launch
64 sites remain in the launch queue (36 of which are inline sites of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs). MarComm, in partnership with campus stakeholders, has launched 143 websites and 10,925 pages since Drupal’s initial go-live in September 2018. MarComm has fully transferred migration/overhaul ownership in house.
Roadmap updates
As a reminder, DU is extending the OmniUpdate contract by six months in order to ensure there is hosting coverage while we continue to expediently migrate sites from OmniUpdate to Drupal. We are predicting based on current resources that the migration will continue through April. The more stakeholders volunteering to write and contribute to quality assurance checks, the more likely individual sites can launch earlier. The roadmap and site prioritization, targeted launch date summary, and weekly progress checklist can be found in PioneerWeb -> Website Governance.
Our top priority through fall quarter is to continue progress on Student Affairs and Academic Affairs websites and to launch University Libraries, Law Libraries, and remaining Korbel and Morgridge College of Education sites.
Drupal updates
As a reminder, we are in the process of converting our Drupal environment from Drupal 8 to Drupal 9. This work will be completed by the end of November. The Drupal 9 upgrade will not have a major impact on our site migrations, site design, or site integrations.
