Update on DU's web overhaul project for February 2022
We are proud to announce the launch of five new sites over the past month including:
- Kennedy Mountain Campus
- Shared Services
- Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) Center
- Controller
- Center for Professional Development
We are also proud to announce the relaunch of the 4D Experience site and the DU Homepage.
Remaining sites to launch
There are 53 sites remaining in the launch queue with 32 of them inline sites of Academic Affairs and Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence (SAIE). In partnership with campus stakeholders, MarComm has launched 154 websites and 11,338 pages since Drupal’s initial go-live in September 2018.
Roadmap updates
As a reminder, the OmniUpdate (OU) hosting contract expires on June 30, 2022, and we are continuing to migrate sites expeditiously from OU to Drupal. We anticipate all sites will launch by the end of May, enabling us to use the next month to tie up loose ends. We eagerly anticipate the launches of Academic Affairs, SAIE, Ricks Center for Gifted Children and Fisher Early Childhood Development Center sites over the next couple of weeks through March.
We are planning for all remaining sites to launch April through May.
This work couldn’t happen without our campus partners. We genuinely thank the DU community for steadfast cooperation and participation in this important initiative. The roadmap and site prioritization, targeted launch date summary, and weekly progress checklist, can be found in PioneerWeb --> Website Governance.
Drupal, governance updates
As a reminder, we continue to make updates to ensure the Drupal ecosystem functions properly and we anticipate the launch of Drupal 9 in the coming weeks. The web working group meets monthly to address web optimization and best practices. The latest updates include ensuring content from our alert and crisis systems can be syndicated from a central point.
