University of Denver Celebrates the 2024 Graduates
DENVER — This week, the University of Denver is celebrating the graduates from the class of 2024. On Friday, June 14, graduate ceremonies will be held for all doctoral and master’s candidates. On Saturday, June 15, the undergraduate ceremony will celebrate all bachelor’s candidates.
The Saturday morning ceremony will be special for all undergraduate students. In the spring of 2020, they were unable to come together to celebrate graduating from high school because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, when they arrived on campus in the fall of 2020, they were unable to take part in the tradition of standing together to form the letters “DU.” During the commencement ceremony in Magness Arena graduates will have the opportunity the participate in this tradition.
The University of Denver is welcoming back to campus alumni Maureen Hinman (BA ’02, MA ’03) and Marc Nathanson (BA ’67) as the keynote speakers at the graduate and undergraduate ceremonies. Both speakers have had highly successful careers — including key government positions in trade and diplomacy — and both are personally dedicated to empowering students to become tomorrow’s leaders and changemakers. Nathanson, who served as the U.S. ambassador to Norway until February of this year, will deliver the undergraduate address on Saturday. Hinman, who is co-founder of a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organization focused on solving geopolitical challenges, is Friday’s graduate ceremony speaker.
Media is invited to attend the undergraduate and graduate ceremonies.
