Thank you, DU volunteers
Dear DU community members,
This past weekend, the University of Denver, along with our health care partner, National Jewish Health (NJH), distributed over 4,000 COVID-19 vaccines to eligible staff, faculty and community partners. This incredible effort was supported by over 200 DU community members—students, faculty and staff—who volunteered their time. Many of these volunteers stood outside in single-degree temperatures for several hours to help direct traffic.
To all our volunteers, I want to express my sincere gratitude. You have made this community proud, and you have helped in a significant way to stop the spread of the deadly coronavirus. Thanks as well to our COVID-19 response network whose members worked closely with NJH to organize these events.
We plan to continue to work with NJH, as well as our K-12 partner schools, to offer more vaccination events on campus—all while following the Governor’s guidelines, prioritizing equity and helping to serve eligible marginalized populations who are under-vaccinated nationally and in Colorado.
Thank you again, DU. This community continues to astound me with its compassion, dedication and commitment, truly, to the public good.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Haefner
Chancellor
