Dear Colleagues,
I am very excited to announce that the University of Denver has appointed Uttiyo Raychaudhuri, Ph.D., to the role of Vice Provost for Internationalization. Uttiyo is thrilled to become a part of the DU community and looks forward to joining us on January 1.
Uttiyo joins DU from Cornell University, where he served as the first executive director in the Office of Global Learning, providing leadership and vision for the university in global learning, study abroad, faculty-directed courses and programs, and international immigration and support services. Prior to his work at Cornell, Uttiyo also served as director of Clemson Abroad at Clemson University. There he successfully advocated for high-impact, evidence-based academic and global engagement as a key foundation of the school’s strategic plan.

Additionally, Uttiyo will manage a large and complex set of units including the English Language Center, International Student and Scholar Services, and the Office of International Education.
Uttiyo brings to the Provost’s Office novel approaches to strategic planning and management of education abroad mobility. Utilizing his extensive internationalization experience, he will work closely with international students and leadership to enhance the international student experience. I firmly believe Uttiyo, with his enterprising spirit, will advance what we already do well in study abroad and strategic partnerships, while also creating innovative solutions to address national challenges in international student recruitment for all types of programs.
