Announcement  •

Dear colleagues,

As previously shared, our Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor, Mary Clark, will be stepping down from her position this summer when her successor can begin.  We have begun a national search to identify DU’s next provost and have formed a search advisory committee to help guide that work. DU is partnering with the search firm Isaacson, Miller, a proven leader in successfully filling higher education leadership roles.

I am grateful for Dean Saitta and Melissa Akaka, who graciously agreed to co-chair this important search. I would also like to thank the entire search committee (listed below) for their time and thoughtful commitment to best hiring practices, as well as transparency, diversity and fairness. Our goal is to have a new provost hired before the start of the Fall 2025 term.

The members of the committee are:

Dean Saitta – Co-chair; CAHSS
Melissa Akaka – Co-chair; Daniels
Alvaro Arias – NSM
Susan Daggett – SCOL
Mark DeLorenzo – Finance and Business
Claude d’Estree – Korbel
Phil Hanlon – Trustee
Darrin Hicks – CAHSS
Bobbie Kite – UCOL
Henrika McCoy – GSSW
Denise O’Leary – Trustee
Detric Robinson – SAIE
Breigh Roszelle – RSECS
Doug Scrivner – Trustee
Laura Sponsler – MCE

Due to the importance of this position, the University will provide updates on the progress of the search in The Bridge, the faculty and staff newsletter, while still respecting the privacy and confidentiality of our candidates.

Over the next few months, please take the opportunity to celebrate Provost Clark and all she has done to advance our University. I am confident the search process led by the search committee will deliver a candidate who will continue and grow the legacy started by Provost Clark.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Haefner

Chancellor
