Dear Students,

I am so pleased to welcome our new students and welcome back our returning students to the University of Denver. I am so excited for you to engage in DU’s 4D experience from which you will receive a multi-dimensional, adventure-driven education that prepares you to make a difference and thrive in our dynamic world. Here at DU, you will be introduced to new ideas and concepts, exposed to new people, backgrounds, and cultures that may differ from your own, and I hope that you will view each experience, engagement, and connection as a new opportunity to learn and grow.

We are working harder than ever to support your entry and experience into our amazing DU community. You’ll see us doing things like connecting you with our 4D experience student peer mentors, inviting you to our amazing James C. Kennedy Mountain Campus, and sharing messages from around DU offering opportunities to join activities and meet others. You’ll receive information about available resources and how to support your personal, academic, and career growth and success.

The Fall is filled with anticipation and energy, and our team is here to provide support and help you make the most of your time at DU. Across the University, from our colleges and divisions to the broader Division of Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence (SAIE) network, you’ll find a wealth of people and resources designed to elevate your 4D experience; our Fall Welcome and Discoveries Orientation are a full immersion into this. It’s a great, early opportunity to find your social groups, with more than 100 registered student organizations in addition to innumerable events and activities throughout the year.

If you are wondering where to begin, the Dean of Students Office (DoS) is your starting point, and can guide you to the right resources to partner in your experience as a DU student. And we hope you will use the DUhelp website  – a centralized hub that makes it easy to find the University resources available to you.

Get involved at DU by exploring Crimson Connect and My4D, our technology platforms that connect you to our student engagement and experience opportunities. Crimson Connect is the perfect place to discover new opportunities, stay informed about upcoming activities, and connect with student organizations and events. My4D includes new, updated tools to help you discover resources, reflect on your experiences, and find opportunities to connect, learn, and explore DU. Plus, keep an eye on newsletters like the Grad and Pulse for the latest updates and insights from our Office of Student Engagement (OSE).

As you explore DU and adjust to life in Denver, you will face many decisions. I encourage you to make those decisions with care, both for yourself and your fellow DU community members. Your safety, health and well-being are of the upmost importance to us.

Our DU community culture is something we all contribute to, and it’s essential that we work together to keep it positive, healthy, and vibrant. Our DU Honor Code was updated over the summer, and I advise you to review this document. The DU Honor Code is in place to help guide our collective actions and remember, it extends beyond campus, so please be mindful of how your actions impact the surrounding neighbors and communities.

Finally, I extend gratitude to the faculty, staff, and healthcare professionals for their unwavering dedication in providing a supportive and nurturing environment at DU.  As we begin this new academic year, let's commit to supporting one another and upholding the values that make our DU community strong. Here's to a year filled with growth, connection, and shared successes.

Welcome to DU!
