Fall Quarter 2018

Letter  •

Friends,

As we enter this season of gratitude, I want to express my thanks to you all. DU is a very special community, and I love to witness daily our faculty members’ commitment to preparing students for careers and lives of purpose. I love to witness our students discover knowledge that addresses the great challenges of today and tomorrow and to see our staff champion and support all the great efforts taking place across campus. I come to work every day honored to be a part of the DU community. Your passion and willingness to keep pushing to make DU even better and to serve the public good are simply extraordinary.

This season offers many opportunities to come together as a community—chances for truth telling many of us need after this challenging quarter. Yet, this season also offers opportunities for reflection so we might pause and notice what is good. This goodness, I believe, is made evident by the work we are doing together as we implement the vision of our strategic plan, DU IMPACT 2025.

In just three short years, we’ve made significant strides. But don’t take my word for it. I enthusiastically encourage you to spend some time with the progress updates presented at the lively poster session at our recent celebration of progress event. I can think of nothing more powerful to inspire gratitude than this.

I wish you all well in the close of the fall quarter. Thank you again, and I look forward to our continued hard work and collaboration in the winter and spring quarters.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Chopp, chancellor
