Class of 2023 Moves in Monday
Monday, Sept. 2, is move-in day for first-year students at the University of Denver. Nearly all 50 states are represented in the roughly 1,400 students making up the Class of 2023 — only Mississippi and North Dakota do not have a single student in the class.
A vast majority of the incoming class will require a plane ticket or daylong drive before making it to campus. Seventy-two percent of students are coming from out of state, representing 48 states and 20 countries. In fact, 67% of first-year students are traveling more than 500 miles to get to DU.
- 28% are from Colorado
- 15% are from the West
- 9% are from the Southwest
- 21% are from the Midwest
- 13% are from the Northeast

- 5% are international
First-generation college students make up 19% of the class, while 10% are legacy students who have had a sibling or parent attend DU before them.
