Effective March 23, 2022, all new Zoom Cloud recordings are automatically sent to DU MediaSpace (powered by Kaltura) and will not be stored in the Zoom Cloud long term. A temporary copy of the recording will reside in Zoom while the transfer takes place. That temporary copy will move to the trash in Zoom for 30 days, after which it will be permanently deleted. For now, existing recordings in the Zoom cloud will remain in place.
DU MediaSpace offers additional capabilities compared to Zoom, including but not limited to video editing tools, video channels, comprehensive cataloging and archiving capabilities, usage analytics, search capabilities, a quizzing tool, a larger storage capacity and access to media files for a longer time.
