Advanced wireless troubleshooting on campus (macOS)
You can set up your computer to join a preferred network when you start up your computer. When connecting to Eduroam, it is important to make sure the Eduroam is preferred over DU WiFi. You may switch the order of preferred networks (Eduroam preferred over DU WiFi), or remove DU WiFi from your list of preferred networks.
For the Mac OS, by default your wireless connection will attempt to join the most recent wireless network your computer connected to. To switch the order, please do the following:
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Network. Another option is click the wireless icon at the top right, then click Open Network Preferences.
- Choose Wi-Fi in the network connection services list, then click on Advanced.
- Choose Wi-Fi from the interface pop-up menu, your preferred networks will be listed.
- Move the preferred network you need to the top, drag networks in the order you prefer.
