FAQs

Q: What is the goal of this project?

A: The current goal is to implement a one-stop shop platform for undergraduate and graduate academic advising, case management, and appointment scheduling to replace Freshdesk (case management), SARS (appointment scheduling), and Civitas Inspire and Illume (advising).

The future goal of the project is to reduce the University software footprint by standardizing and consolidating best-of-breed niche student services software into Salesforce. IT will partner with unit system owners to identify other software that can be replaced in phase 2 of implementation.

Q: Our unit currently uses Freshdesk. When does DU's contract with Freshdesk end? What is the timeline and process to migrate to Salesforce for case management? How can we get prepared for the migration?

A: DU will not renew its contract with Freshdesk after September 2024. The goal is to migrate all Freshdesk users to Salesforce by June 2024. IT will contact the units using Freshdesk to discuss the migration process. We are currently exploring various methods to migrate tickets and knowledge base articles from Freshdesk to Salesforce. We recommend units using Freshdesk to review all your KB articles and delete/inactivate ones that are not being used and update active ones to reflect accurate information.

Q: Our unit currently uses SARS. When does DU's contract with SARS end?

A: DU will not renew its contract with SARS after June 2024. The goal is to migrate all SARS users to Salesforce by June 2024.

Q: Should I continue to use Inspire for notes and appointment scheduling if Inspire is going away?

A: Yes! Data will be migrated from Inspire into the Student Success Hub, so please continue to use Inspire for your advising practice until DU Success Hub is live.
