This article describes how admins in MyDU can add content to their pages.
How to Open the Page Content Editor
- Click the Page Options icon to open the menu.
- Select Edit Page. Note: If you are not an administrator of the page, you will not see this option.
How to Add Content to a Page in MyDU
Use the toolbar at the top of the page to add and edit content within MyDU. The basic options are to add headings, change the size and color of the text, bold and italicize, change the paragraph orientation, and add bullets or numbered lists.
More advanced content editing options are explained in detail below.
How to Add a Link to a Page in MyDU
- Click the Insert/Edit Link icon in the toolbar.
- Type or copy and paste a link into the URL field. This will automatically populate the Text to display field with the same link.
- Optionally, edit the Text to display field to show users a shortened version of the URL or a description of the link.
- Add in a Title field as a tool tip (this is what pops up when a user hovers over the link).
- Skip the Anchors option unless you are linking to a section in your own page.
- Select the option to open the link in a New window. This will ensure the user can still get back to the MyDU page after they have viewed the link.
- Click Save. The link will be crimson red in color and underlined.
- To edit an existing link, select any text within the link and click the (now highlighted) link icon in the toolbar.
How to Add a File to a Page in MyDU
- Select the Insert a File icon in the toolbar.
- Click the Upload a File button.
- Select a file from your computer.
- Optionally, edit the File Label to show users a different title.
- If you select the Plain text styled checkbox, your file will look like this:
If you leave the Plain text styled checkbox unchecked, your file will look like this: - Click Save.
How to Add an Image to a Page in MyDU
- Select the Insert/Edit Image icon in the toolbar.
- Click the Upload tab.
- Drag and drop an image in or select Browse for an image.
- Select an image from your computer.
- An Image URL will be generated automatically and should not be changed.
- Add an Alternative Description for accessibility (this is what will be read aloud by a screenreader).
- Optionally, add Width and/or Height dimensions. If nothing is added here, the image will be inserted into the page at full size and can then be adjusted as needed.
- Click Save.
- Once an image is added to a page, it can be resized by selecting the blue corners of image and dragging to increase or decrease size.
