Shipping and Mail

It's mail time!

Housing & Residential Education works with our carriers to ensure timely and correct delivery while maintaining safety and security in our residential communities.

Letter mail and parcels are typically delivered directly to residence halls and apartment buildings. Parcels for Nagel residents are delivered to Nelson Hall, and residents must pick them up at the Nelson Front Desk. Letter mail, or “flat mail” is delivered to the mailboxes in Nagel Hall. Additionally, all mail for our Apartments Communities (Summit, Ridgeline, Mesa, UPlace, Lynn Marie, University Lofts, and Transfer Living Community) is delivered to the University Place Front Desk.

Shipping around Move-in Day

Personal belongings can be shipped to your mailing address on campus, but make sure they don't arrive early. We cannot accept any packages that arrive before move-in day, so please plan accordingly.

If you need a package to arrive earlier, try these options:

• Contact the local post office to see if they can hold your package(s).
• If you will be staying at a hotel, contact the concierge/front desk to see if you can ship your personal belongings to them.
• Order items ahead for in-store pick up (please check with individual stores for availability).

Winter and Summer Break Delivery

HRE tries to work with carriers to alter delivery locations during Winter and Summer break. However, during these times we tend to see increases in issues with deliveries and strongly encourage residents not to ship packages to campus during the breaks. The University and HRE are not responsible for any packages that are not logged in our system and verified by a confirmation email that is sent out to residents indicating you have a package for pick up.

• HRE Mail Policies

  1. Consistent with federal law, the shipping of drugs and other illicit substances is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply will result in being reported to Student Rights & Responsibilities, Campus Safety, and local authorities.

  2. Housing & Residential Education does not allow the shipping of perishable goods to University residence halls or apartments. This includes, but is not limited to, meal prep services such as HelloFresh and grocery delivery services such as InstaCart.

  3. You must use your own name when receiving mail and parcels. Mail with names that do not match student names may be returned to the sender by our front desk. Please ensure you are using your first AND last name when addressing mail.

  4. Neither Housing & Residential Education nor the University are responsible for mail delivered to the institution that is not logged in our tracking system and verified by an HRE confirmation email sent to students' DU email indicating that they have a package for pick up at our front desks.
