Dress Code & Appearance
While the University values diversity of opinion and freedom of expression, discretion in the style of dress can be important to the effective operation of the University. Individuals are, therefore, expected to dress in a manner in keeping with their job functions and working environment. All employees are expected to maintain acceptable standards of personal grooming and present a neat, professional appearance at all times.
Department heads may establish dress code standards tailored to the unit’s operations and employees’ job duties, including due to health and safety concerns. Questions regarding appropriate dress should be discussed with the employee’s immediate supervisor. Employees must adhere to individual department dress codes.
Violation of department dress codes may result in appropriate corrective measures.
Employees seeking an exemption or accommodation from dress code standards should contact their HR Partner.
