You've heard the phrase, "Data is the new oil," but do your clients realize legal obligations protecting this resource are changing? More importantly, do you know that Colorado is one of the states leading the charge in recent legal developments governing personal data?
This CLE will give practitioners a "bird's eye view" of important data privacy laws, including, most notably, the Colorado Privacy Act. The goal of this presentation is to help lawyers better understand legal developments in the Colorado data privacy space, so that they can further investigate client duties over data protection generally, as well as to give law students an introduction to the fast-developing area of privacy law.
