Songs My Grandmothers Taught Me: Music by Finzi, Schumann, and Dvorák

A graduate of the Metropolitan Opera's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, tenor Matthew Plenk made his Metropolitan Opera debut in the 2007/2008 season as the Sailor's Voice in Tristan und Isolde under the baton of Maestro James Levine, a role he repeated under the baton of Daniel Barenboim. He has since returned to the Met as Arturo, Janek in The Makropolous Case, the Song Seller in Il Tabarro and Marcellus in Hamlet, and appeared as Arturo in the Met's 2011 tour of Japan. Noah Lindquist has been a full-time assistant conductor at the Lyric Opera of Chicago since 2016, and frequently joins the music staff at San Francisco Opera for their summer seasons. Noah recently made his conducting debut leading a Don Pasquale starring Lucas Meachem, Serena Sàenz, Alexey Lavrov, and Thomas Cilluffo, with the Festival Napa Valley Orchestra, an ensemble half comprised of members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and other major orchestras.
