Join the Department of English & Literary Arts for their Visiting Scholars Series. A reception with light refreshments will begin at 3:30 p.m. and the lecture will begin at 4 p.m.

 

About the Visiting Scholar

Dr. Chimalum Nwankwo is professor emeritus and former chair of the Department of English and Speech at North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, and he holds an MFA, MA and Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Nwankwo has taught at universities across the United States (including East Carolina University, Greenville; and North Carolina State University, Raleigh) and Nigeria (including Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka; Turkish Nile University, Abuja; and Veritas Catholic University, Abuja, where he was Writer-in-Residence and Supervisory Dean of the Faculty of Education).

Dr. Nwankwo has published seven poetry collections, including "Toward the Aerial Zone" and "Voices from Deep Water," as well as a critical study, "The Works of Ngugi wa Thiong’o: Towards the Kingdom of Woman and Man."
