7 pm - The Creative Age
In his early 70s, looking back on a long creative life and a recent illness, artist Henri Matisse said, “I have needed all that time to reach the stage where I can say what I want to say … " He, along with many other artists who worked well into their 70s, 80s and beyond, are proof that creativity can indeed get better with time. In this session, Molly Medakovich, teaching specialist and art historian, celebrates artists like Grandma Moses, Alma Thomas, Katsushika Hokusai and others for their continued creative evolution and adaptations across their long lives.
8 pm - Avalanche Safety and Forecasting in Colorado: An Overview of the Colorado Avalanche Information Center
