It’s in headlines far too often: mass violence. What’s going on in the perpetrator’s mind? What do we know about victims’ trauma and recovery? Here, clinical psychologist John Nicoletti, who was on-scene at the Columbine school shooting and responded to the Aurora theater shooting, offers answers and explains the thread that runs through the attackers, trauma and recovery.
