DU Executive Certificate in
Affordable Housing


The DU Executive Certificate in Affordable Housing is a joint program offered by the Burns School of Real Estate & Construction Management at the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business and the Rocky Mountain Land Use Institute at the University of Denver's Sturm College of Law. Featuring in-depth training from interdisciplinary experts, the program provides participants with a focused and fast-tracked pathway to learn the complexities of affordable housing development and the practical skills necessary to work in this specialized sector.

Note: This is a non-degree program. No university transcripts or credits will be offered. Participants who complete the coursework will receive an Executive Certificate in Affordable Housing from the University of Denver.

Why We Created This Program


Lack of affordable housing supply has culminated in a housing crisis in the West. As communities scramble to tackle this problem, the demand for skilled professionals in the affordable housing sector is growing. The DU Executive Certificate in Affordable Housing program is designed to help meet that demand by providing professionals with the foundational and technical knowledge needed to build more affordable housing and more equitable communities.

The Affordable Housing Certificate program is designed to upskill professionals currently working in the affordable housing sector, or reskill professionals looking to transition into the affordable housing field.
