Ruwayda Petrus

Dr Ruwayda Petrus is a Senior Lecturer in Industrial Psychology in the Discipline of Psychology and the Academic Leader for Teaching and Learning at the School of Applied Human Sciences. She possesses extensive experience in Organisational Development, Design and Change management relating to Health Systems and Employee Wellness. Her focal areas of specialization are Psychological Wellbeing in the Workplace and Training and staff development . Dr Petrus has been involved in various interdisciplinary research projects at the Centre for Rural Health which focused on Health System Strengthening Interventions for Low and Middle-Income Countries. She teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate level and has been involved in health systems strengthening interventions for the integrated provision of mental health care in low and middle-income countries. Her experience in working with large research consortiums led to the development of clinical communication skills for people-centred care training programme for professional nurses in primary health care facilities in North West Province.
