University of Denver Magazine
The University of Denver Magazine's mission is to 'keep DU close' to alumni and friends of DU by nurturing pride; highlighting the achievements of students, staff, faculty and alumni; and demonstrating DU's impact as an intellectual thought leader and private university dedicated to the public good. The magazine is published three times a year (autumn, spring and summer digital edition) by the Division of University Relations.
Autumn 2025
In this Issue
The Autumn 2025 issue explores mentorship, an important element of a DU education. Join us as we talk to four pairs of mentors and mentees—spanning disciplines, degree programs, and backgrounds—to learn how mentor relationships transform lives and careers. You’ll hear how mentorship helps students expand their networks, improve their skills, and gain a sense of belonging. You’ll also learn how DU makes it easy for students to find mentorship opportunities that support them in every aspect of the student experience.
We also explore the life-changing research happening at DU’s Institute for Human-Animal Connection, part of the Graduate School of Social Work. Scientists there are exploring the impact of service dogs on veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder. In addition, we introduce you to DU’s new provost, Elizabeth Loboa; talk about great campus buildings with longtime DU architect Mark Rodgers, who recently retired after three decades; and learn how a group of DU engineering students collaborated with a biomedical company to make medical treatment safer and less painful.
