The Playground  Music Live!

Web site

The Playground is the region's premier chamber group dedicated to modern composition. We aim to expand the definition and scope of the musical experience. Although we are an ensemble without limitations, we champion the new; works that are infrequently heard or performed, and a challenge to the conventional conceptualization of a musical opus, whether in form or performance, or both. They may be multi-media; they may take place in unconventional environments, and they may be of uncommon durations. If we succeed, our performances will provide listeners with new ideas upon which an enlarged appreciation of music's possibilities can be built.

The Playground, Conrad Kehn director, recognizes a strong obligation to education and is currently Artist-In-Residence at the University of Denver 's Lamont School of Music.

Mission

The Playground is a place of exuberance, spontaneity, beauty, and discovery.  We are a voice for ground-breaking works of the 20 th century, as well as the music of our own time. With intriguing programs in diverse settings we aim to expand common conceptions of both contemporary music and the chamber ensemble.
