Biography

 

Susan McCullough, Horn, earned her bachelors degree in Music Performance from Emporia State University in 1975. She was featured as Principal Horn and soloist with the Air Force Academy Band in Colorado Springs, Colorado from 1975-78, and recently finished twenty-two years with the Colorado Springs Symphony Orchestra as 3rd and Principal Horn. Ms. McCullough is a founding member of The Denver Brass and has been performing with the Aries Brass Quintet since 1996.  She has been featured throughout the country as soloist and clinician of horn.  In 2003, she had the pleasure of touring the United States as Principal Horn with the Lucerne Festival Strings, a highly esteemed Swiss chamber orchestra.  Ms. McCullough was a featured soloist at the 2004 Western United States Horn Symposium in Las Vegas, Nevada, was a participating artist at the 2005 Mid- South Horn Symposium in Austin, Texas, and was a soloist at the 38 th International Horn Symposium in Cape Town, South Africa in July, 2006.  In 2004, 2005 and 2006, she performed on recitals at Kendall Betts Horn Camp.  A much sought after horn player in the Denver area, she regularly performs with many of Colorado's top ensembles including the Colorado Symphony, the Colorado Ballet, various opera companies and many of the Broadway shows that come to Denver.  Ms. McCullough has been Instructor of Horn at the University of Denver's Lamont School of Music since 1996.
