The Undergraduate Experience
Mallory Rubin and 31 other students got to make Wall Street their classroom. Mallory and her classmates traveled to New York for an interterm course where they spent a week touring Wall Street.
The undergraduate experience at the University of Denver is all about cultivating existing passions and discovering new ones.
From your first day on campus until your last, you'll be introduced to professors and subjects that shed new light on how the world works, on how all the disciplines relate, and, just as important, on how you can make a difference.
Lots of majors to choose from
When you're ready to choose a major, you'll select from more than 65 innovative programs of study in a vast array of disciplines—everything from the arts, humanities and social sciences to business, engineering, international studies and the natural sciences.
The foundations of your education
Your voyage of discovery begins with a first-year mentoring seminar that introduces you to DU's academic culture and to the expectations for university-level work. You'll also enroll in a first-year writing and inquiry sequence that will strengthen your research and communication skills. That's just the beginning of a four-year emphasis on building writing skills.
Like every DU student, you'll take core curriculum courses that show you how the disciplines relate and that prepare you for in-depth study in your major. As an added bonus, you'll have the opportunity to venture abroad for a service learning or study experience.
DU also makes it affordable to study abroad. With the Cherrington Global Scholars program, students can study in many places around the world for the same cost as an academic quarter here at the University.
Undergraduate students can also find opportunities for specialized research projects and outlets for their academic pursuits.
