Inside the Residence Halls
On-campus living is designed to be comfortable and to fit the specific needs of all our residents, from first-years to graduate students.
First-year undergraduates live in either Johnson-McFarlane Hall (usually called J-Mac) or Centennial Halls. Upperclassmen can choose from options like suite-style living and University-owned apartments.

All the features you need
All the rooms in our residence halls include the details that make life easier for students. Our halls feature:
- High-speed Internet connections in all rooms
- A refrigerator/freezer/
microwave unit in each room - Free basic cable and local phone calls
- Front desks staffed 24 hours a day
- Community rooms with big-screen TVs
- Laundry facilities
- Computer labs
- Carpeted floors
Roommates
First-year students share their room with one roommate. Having a roommate will help you get to know someone right away.
We use questionnaires to match up students with similar interests and schedules, so you and your roommate should be a good fit. But if you run into any problems, your Resident Advisor will be there to help you work it out.

Dining
Our meal plans are flexible enough that you should be able to find anything you're craving.
Our plans include both meals and meal-plan cash. You can use your meals at the two bright, spacious all-you-can-eat cafeterias on campus--in Centennial Halls on the north side of campus, and in Nelson Hall on the south. Both cafeterias offer hot, fresh breakfasts and entrees that change daily, as well as salad, waffle and deli bars; vegetarian and vegan meals; fresh-baked breads; and soup, grill, deli and pizza specials that change every day.
For an example of all the options our cafeterias offer, see one of our menus (PDF).
But if that's not enough variety for you, you can use the cash part of your meal plan to buy items at cafes and convenience stores around campus, and even at Sidelines Pub in the Driscoll Student Center.
