Harrison Scholarships

In addition to the university's standard forms of financial aid, undergraduate students in the School of Art and Art History have the opportunity to apply for significant amounts of assistance in the form of Harrison Scholarships. Each year, students who have declared majors in the SAAH and who will have attained at least sophomore standing by the next fall are eligible to compete for these funds. Past awards have ranged from $2,000 to full tuition. Decisions on awards are made by a faculty committee and are based on submission of portfolios (for art education, eMAD, pre-conservation and studio art) and art history papers (for art history). The competition generally takes place in February or March.

Art Scholarships

A limited number of scholarships are available for entering freshmen or transfer students who declare a major in art education, pre-art-conservation, studio art, or electronic media arts design. These scholarships are based on the admission portfolio that should be submitted to the School of Art and Art History at the same time that the application for admission is sent to the Office of Admissions. They are added on top of any merit award offered at the time of acceptance to DU and they are renewed each year as long as the student remains a declared major in good standing. No art scholarship will be offered until AFTER the student has been accepted to the University of Denver.

DU ART! scholarships

DU ART!, a volunteer support group for the School of Art and Art History, offers one-year scholarships to entering first-year and transfer students on the merit of the students' work. DU ART! Scholars will be notified after acceptance to DU.
