This volunteer membership group supports the work of the School of Art and Art History
Through a long-standing partnership, museum curators, conservators, and educators teach courses at DU; graduate museum studies students intern at the museum; and many classes take advantage of the museum collections.
Many students exhibit their work in the buildings at Denver West and DU classes have created site specific design for the Denver West campus. Denver West provides art materials, frames, and awards for outstanding art students.
Through a three-way partnership with the Denver Art Museum and School of Art and Art History, the Logans generously open their world-class collection of contemporary art to DU student curators, who develop exhibitions and author exhibition catalogs.
Bill and Jan van Straaten's fine art print making company is located in Steamboat Springs, where DU students intern with Master Printer Sue Oehme. Riverhouse also makes great contemporary art prints and artists available to students on DU's campus, through exhibitions, lectures, gifts, and workshops.
The School of Art and Art History is a member of the SACI Consortium and many of our students choose to spend a semester in Florence, Italy, where they may study art history, art conservation, jewelry, fibers, architecture and planning, video, photography, painting, printmaking and sculpture. SACI offers scholarships to Consortium students and is part of the Cherrington Program.
CO-LAB is a transdisciplinary forum open to all graduate and advanced
undergraduate students in Electronic Media Arts Design, Art Studio, Art
History, Digital Media Studies and Mass Communications and Journalism
Studies - with faculty and professional participation from said disciplines,
as well as the DU community and beyond.
