An Integrated 4D Experience

Together, curricular and co-curricular learning comprise the holistic DU 4D Experience. Each supports the other’s potential for highest impact and gives students opportunities to learn more, do more. Through our integrated approach, students make connections between their experiences, the future they desire and their ability to change the world.

What's Happening in 4D?

Throughout the year, the 4D Team offers numerous ways for faculty and staff to learn more about 4D, and help envision the future of the 4D Experience. This shared work with campus partners culminates in the 4D Symposium, a day-long event that celebrates the work being done to advance 4D across the institution. This year's symposium will take place on May 18th, and offer the opportunity for ongoing dialogue, as well as foster new ideas and partnerships.

Integrating Learning, Intentionally

The 4D Learning Community brings together faculty, staff and administrators to foster integration between the four dimensions. As part of their work, our new Faculty Fellows will be developing learning communities on a variety of new topics - please stay tuned for details!

Backing Big Ideas

4D Infusion Grants help faculty and staff implement projects that enhance 4D student learning. Projects are evaluated based on integrative or collaborative design, potential impact and scalability. The 2022-23 grants have awarded a total of $8,000 to faculty and staff, and will be showcased at the 4D Symposium on May 18th, 2023.

Building What's Next

The 4D Innovations Working Group is an incubator for co-curricular partners to meet biweekly. They reimagine, design and integrate models and practices that further embed the 4D-Experience across the co-curriculum. The group will present its plans for new programmatic models or practices at the 4D Symposium in May in preparation for the implementation phase over the summer.
